Swaraj Trophy
The Swaraj Trophy is an annual award instituted by the Government of Kerala to recognize and honor the best-performing Local Self-Government Institutions (LSGIs)—including Grama Panchayats, Block Panchayats, District Panchayats, Municipalities, and Corporations—in the state. The primary objective of this award is to encourage exceptional performance and enhance the overall efficiency of local bodies.

Instituted By: Government of Kerala, under the Department of Local Self-Government (LSGD).
Objective: To boost the administrative and developmental efficiency of Grama, Block, and District Panchayats, as well as Municipalities and Corporations across Kerala.

Revenue Generation: Efficiency and capability in mobilizing the institution's own local funds.
General Administration: Administrative transparency, responsiveness, and operational efficiency.
Developmental Initiatives: Impactful interventions and milestones achieved in health, education, and social welfare sectors.
Financial Discipline: Precision in fund utilization and maintaining clean, excellent audit records.
Transparency & Public Participation: Active conduct of Grama Sabhas/Ward Sabhas and ensuring public access to institutional information.
